Menstruation, rule or period, is a perfectly normal vaginal bleeding, which all women go through from their adolescence, approximately at the age of 12, until entering menopause after the age of 50. The period usually lasts between three and five days, there are women who can have it up to eight days and it is still normal. What we commonly call a period is part of a menstruation cycle’s complete, which is the one that prepares the woman for a pregnancy, this cycle begins on the first day of menstruation and ends at 28 days when the bleeding returns, although there are women who have cycles from 23 to 35 days and it’s totally normal. Several parts of our body are involved in this cycle, such as the cervix, the uterus, the fallopian tubes, accompanied by the pituitary gland and the brain. Our body produces hormones throughout the month, these are chemicals that raise and lower their level according to the elapsed time of the cycle. The most abundant and well-known hormones are progesterone and estrogen, which are produced by the ovaries, but there are also others that have an influence during the menstrual cycle, which are produced by the pituitary gland, these are luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Estrogen levels rise when we are in the middle of the menstrual cycle causing our uterus to grow and become wider and thus the follicle-stimulating hormone matures in one of the ovaries and there is an increase in luteinizing hormone which is responsible for the egg leaves the ovary, causing ovulation.
Although having menstruation is a totally natural process and it is a blessing to have it, because it indicates that we are healthy, many times when we are in the period we have plans in which it will really be a hindrance and we will not be able to be comfortable. - Ice:putting ice on your abdomen helps reduce your bleeding, as well as helping to reduce inflammation and pain; this is due to the constriction it causes. Put the ice on for approximately 30 minutes, use a bag or a cloth, do not put it directly, and repeat the procedure after two hours
